Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and charismatic Student PR Manager to help run, manage & promote our events in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will drive ticket sales to our target market, manage a team of reps, increase brand awareness, and create memorable experiences at all of our Edinburgh events. As the Student Club Manager, you will be the face of the brand within the student community, responsible for building and maintaining a loyal customer base, promoting events, and ensuring a vibrant community atmosphere at the club that keeps our customers coming back week in week out. If you’re passionate about dance music, have a flair for sales, and are social media-savvy, then this role is perfect for you!
We are ideally looking for one student candidate in years 1-2 and one locally based candidate from Edinburgh for outwith term-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Promotion & Marketing
- Promote upcoming events to our target audience through social media and physical promotional material (flyers, posters etc.)
- Manage Club & Ticket Listings on our website & ticket channels.
- Encourage repeat custom from existing clientele and attracting new customers to the club through innovative marketing techniques.
- Partner, promote and champion the local scene through partnerships with collectives, crews and local DJs.
- Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing patrons, new customers, venues & DJs.
- Provide exceptional customer service for both event attendees and guests playing at the club.
- Act as the primary point of contact on the night for our events for all venue staff, DJs, customers etc.
- Event Media, Content, Social Media
- Leverage social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter etc.) to drive excitement and buzz for our events.
- Engage with music blogs, local press, brands, influencers etc.
- Create engaging posts, stories, and promotional content to share across our platforms, increasing visibility and driving ticket sales.
- Guest List & Ticket Management
- Manage guest lists, track ticket sales, facilitate the box office / door for guests ensuring smooth access.
- Coordinate with the door staff and security to ensure box office is properly organised and guests accommodated.
- Market Research & Trends
- Stay on top of local trends, identifying new strategies to draw in customers and build excitement around events.
- Conduct surveys or gather feedback on how we can improve as a club.
- Collaborations & Partnerships
- Work with local businesses, bloggers, press, brands etc to create collaborations which can drive footfall to the club.
- Reporting & Feedback
- Track the effectiveness of your promotional efforts, including sales, social media engagement, attrition rates etc.
- Provide regular feedback to the management team regarding customer preferences, event success, and promotional ideas.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Previous experience in club promotion and event management is preferred but not essential. Training provided.
- Experience in sales or customer-facing roles (e.g., hospitality, retail) is a plus.
- Strong Social Media presence is also a bonus.
- Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong networking skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people.
- Energetic, personable, and highly motivated.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends, with flexibility in hours.
