Open Air

To mark our tenth edition of FLY Open Air, we extended a special welcome to the acclaimed Scottish artist Trackie McLeod to create a series of flags tapping into Scottish rave culture. A series of exclusive saltires adorned our Boiler Room stage as it broadcasted worldwide, alongside a limited batch of slogan flags which were handed out to punters in the crowd.

Among the designs created, a very special FLY Crest was designed to sail on the roof of Hopetoun House - the first flag other than the Hopetoun family crest to be hoisted above the House since the 1800’s. It was a true honour to be able to do this and to have Trackie design this for us.

Additionally, Trackie designed flags to incorporate into the design of our Boiler Room stage. These designs took inspiration from Scottish heritage symbols such as the rampant lion and coats of arms. This created a stage design that was a proud display of Scottish culture, blending tradition with a vibrant, modern twist. Trust us when we say this was a showstopper, completely outshining anything we've ever laid eyes on.

Trackie also designed some flags to be handed out to the crowd. These were designed in his own tongue in cheek style, referencing Scottish patter. The perfect inside joke for us all to have a laugh at.

We would like to thank Trackie for designing the flags and Hopetoun House for allowing us to fly the flag over the house. If you would like to have one of the flags for yourself keep an eye out on Trackie Mcleods Instagram HERE.
